The Channel has pressed Pause

I just got an E-Mail from YouTube which helped me make a decision that has been on my mind for a bit now: I need to put the YouTube channel on Pause for a bit.

The reasons for that are both personal and directly YouTube related. For one thing, I’m expecting my second child AND moving house in the second quarter of 2018. Both are very time consuming, but I was positive that I could still keep my hobby project up and running besides. I really wanted to achieve those 10k views and get my YouTube Partnership. Being at 8k views now, I was really hoping to get those missing 2k views this year despite my other responsibilities.

This morning, however, I got notice from YouTube that Partnership for another of my channels will get terminated. That will be the second time that partnership for me has been terminated and it’s just very very frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I make basically nothing from these channels. I never even intended to make any money from them. But having been given the option just to have it get terminated again is just very very frustrating. I’m repeating myself, that just shows HOW frustrating it is.

The new requirements are now: 4,000 hours of viewing time over the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. I don’t have either on all of my channels COMBINED. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to reach those numbers in any way. So that fact in addition with my previously mentioned responsibilities helped me reach the decision to put my YouTube activities on Pause for now. Videos will be rolling on the Mon/Wed/Fri schedule until the end of January when my buffer runs dry.

I hope you enjoyed your time with me and if you like, stay with me for updates in the future. Until then: Stay safe and Goodbye!
